What is the LGfL newsfeed?

So much happens within the Grid that sometimes it's hard to keep everyone up to date with developments.

This newsfeed endeavors to share developments to help raise awareness of what is available out there.

Teachers are busy professionals. The aim is to keep it short, quick and informative.

How do I subscribe to the Newsfeed mailing list?

In addition to the RSS feed, users are welcome to subscribe to a mailing list which notifies you of the recent news articles.

Simply email: news-request@lgfl.net with the word "subscribe" in the subject header and reply to the confirmation email.

LGfL in Finals of E-Gov Awards

We are pleased to advise that from 588 nominations, London LAs working together as The London Grid for Learning, have been shortlisted as a finalist in the e-Government National Awards 2008. 

For achievement in relation to The London Managed Learning Environment, LGfL is shortlisted in the e-Government excellence in Learning & Skills Category.

The final results will be announced on 20th January.

The selection and implementation of the London MLE has been a major programme with substantial inputs from many LA and LGfL team colleagues, as well as Fronter our commercial partner in this venture, who are all to be warmly congratulated on this achievement.

London MLE Innovation Awards

Are you proud of your use of the London MLE? These innovation awards celebrate good practice and innovative approaches to its implementation. There are 5 categories and schools can choose one category to enter:

  • Primary Implementation
  • Secondary Implementation
  • Special School Implementation
  • Using the London MLE in Foundation stage & KS1

Winners and runners up will be announced during the London MLE User Conference at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday 4th December.

LGfL and Fronter would like to invite you and a colleague to join us at the Emirates Stadium Conference Centre on Thursday 4th December for the first London MLE User Conference.  

This regional event is a unique opportunity to:

  • find out how schools across London have been using the MLE to enhance teaching and learning and raise attainment
  • learn  more about the London MLE and the new tools and functionalities that are planned for 2009
