Concept/mind-mapping tool which allows the user to assemble ideas on the screen and link them together
Launch Smart Ideas
www.smartideas.lgfl.net

Smart ideas is a concept/mind-mapping tool which allows the user to assemble ideas on the screen, link them together, link them to photos, sound files and web sites, create extra levels of ideas and save the whole as a single document. Finished work can even be translated into HTML and placed on the school's web site. The benefits for teachers and learners include:

  • Using subject specific graphics to bring topics to life
  • Use it as a building block to assess students' level of understanding at the beginning of a topic
  • Use it as a brainstorming tool to collect the thoughts of the whole class
  • Use the concepts developed by the class as a base for individual work
  • Produce concept maps that are easy to edit as new ideas are generated
  • Communicate information to suit all learning styles
  • Enables students to personalise their work which aids retention
