17-02-2012: Who Can Play?

This lesson plan, with its teaching resources, has been written by Islington Healthy Schools Team for schools wanting to teach children about the safer use of computer games.  This lesson plan aims to support pupils to take more care with independent gaming habits:

  • Giving pupils a basic understanding of why some games are not appropriate for younger children
  • Developing pupils' skills to evaluate whether a game is important for them to play
  • Allows pupils to question why there are age restrictions for games and films and why some children and adults might not pay attention to these.
It can be taught as it is written, although teachers will need to adapt it to address the specific needs and requirements of pupils in individual classes.
